Q: How do I submit my business plan?

 
A: Click on LOG IN, the leftmost option in the menu. To get a login name, you must first register with the Online Registration Form.


Q: When does this competition start?
 

A: Please check the Important dates page. To register, fill in the Online Registration Form. After registering, you may submit your complete business plan before the beginning of Phase II (See competition format).

Q: Who may participate?

 

A: Any student enrolled in an undergraduate program in a recognized Canadian university. Each group can have one student that is from one of senior programs, but this person cannot be the leader.

Q: How much is the registration fee and is it refundable?

 

A: A $35 registration fee will be required for taking part in this competition. The participants will receive our online services and the invitation to the final venture fair. The fee is not refundable. You may bring a cheque to any prepration workshop and give it to us in person or you may mail it to us:

Q: Can I enter the competition after the proposal deadline? (See Competition Format)

 

A: Yes. But you would miss out on precious feedback from the experts and mentor advisory services.

Q: What is the difference between submitting my plan business plan in Phase I and Phase II?

 

A: Initial feedback, provided to make important changes or guidance which will increase your competitiveness in the contest. Yet the feedbacks will not be given to teams that register late. Unless you are very confident that your business plan is perfect, it is highly recommended that you submit a proposal before the Phase I deadline.

Q: How big can a team be?

 

A: You should have at most 6 people in each team. You may also participate as an individual. Yet the recommended team size is 2 – 4 persons, according to previous competition winner teams’ sizes.

Q: Is there any limit on the number of supporting pages, such as data and graphs?

 

A: Your total plan should not exceed 40 pages. Please have reasonable margins and the font sizes.

Q: Who are the judges, and what are their backgrounds?

 

A: They are Toronto top tier venture capitalists, senior executives of prestigious Toronto firms, banks, funds, accomplished entrepreneurs and distinguished entrepreneurial professors.

Q: How will the judges evaluate my business plan?

 

A: Please read the guidelines for Judges.
